Welcome!

Follow along with us as we travel to Uganda this year and serve alongside Youth for Christ.

Massage Roads

According to Vincent, one of the Youth for Christ (YFC) staff members, "massage roads" are the really bumpy ones that we traversed today (and will continue to do so), in the YFC bus. "No need for a massage after this trip!", he guarantees 😂

The past two days have been a blur of traveling and traversing, but they have been greatly blessed to be pretty smooth all around (unlike the massage roads!). We all made it safely and in one piece to our home base near Matugga, Uganda, yesterday, with all but one of our bags (one supply bag was lost somewhere in transit, but will hopefully be delivered to us soon). Everyone was super excited for showers and actual beds last night!

Today we drove out on some of those massage roads to the YFC property, which is home to their offices, Mirembe House, and Suubi Home. "Suubi" means "hope", so it is also referred to as Hope House. Here we met the YFC staff, including Miriam and Andrew, and the G21 team who is serving with them during this time. Andrew gave us a tour of Mirembe House and Suubi Home before taking us through training for our school visits this coming week. This included some Uganda tips, skit practice, and (most importantly) dancing!

Tomorrow we will attend a local church together and explore some areas of Kampala (the largest town to where we are). One of our prayer requests for the team right now is for good rest to kick the last of the jet lag so that we can hit the ground running on Monday for our first school visits. We will have more updates and stories soon, but for now, we wanted everyone to know that we arrived safely and are enjoying the hospitality of our Ugandan brothers and sisters.

Sula bulungi! (Good Night!)
